JEWS FROM BUKHARA - AGRICOLTURAL CHORUS
The very ancient Jews community , settled in Bukhara and Samarkand after diaspora, represented a relevant cultural pole through centuries. Their music and dance blended original traditions with Central Asian influences, originating a peculiar musical fusion style , called Bukhara maqom. Music contributed in this case to preserve the peculiar identity of Jewish minority through a dynamic dialogue and contamination with neighbouring cultures.
